What is Consignment?
Consignment is a method of sales agreement in which one party (the consignor / owner) provides the goods to another party (the consignee / reseller) to sell in their retail space. This means the consignee is entrusted with selling the goods / items on behalf of the consignor against an agreed upon sales commission.
How do I Consign my item(s)?
The process is simple and as easy as one, two, three!
1. Complete the Online Consignment Intake Form followed by sending 3 – 4 pictures of your dress to admin@encorebridalstudio.com to complete your submission.
Should you have more than one dress to consign, you must complete one online intake form per dress.
2. You will receive an email from Encore Bridal Studio to schedule your Consignment Appointment to bring in your item(s) to be evaluated and priced.
Upon agreement of the resale price and sales commission a Consignment Agreement is signed and your item(s) will be showcased at Encore Bridal Studio over defined consignment period.
3. Once your item(s) have sold you will be notified and receieve your share of the sales price via e-transfer.
What happens if my dress is not professionally cleaned?
It is preferred that clothing items are professionally cleaned by the consignor prior to consigning them. However, if not we do offer professional cleaning at a special discounted rate exclusive to Encore Bridal Studio Consignors.
How much can I expect to be paid when my item(s) has sold?
The Encore Bridal Studio consignment program offers a 50/50 commission split. This means the consignor receives a 50% commission off of the selling price.
How are Consignment items priced?
At Encore Bridal Studio, we work with you to determine the asking price based on; the year item was purchased, original purchase price (supported by original receipt), designer / brand, style, condition, quality and make, amount of alterations / modifications made, sizing, and current market value / price
The baseline for consignment pricing starts at 30% off of the original purchase price and can go up to 60% off of the original purchase price based on the above factors.
What happens if my Original Purchase Receipt is missing?
We understand that you may have misplaced or simply no longer have your original purchase receipt due to many reasons. However, having any form of proof of payment helps us to set a selling price that is fair and reflective of your item’s true market value.
When proof of payment is missing or you simply cannot remember how much you paid for the most important dress of your life, your dress will be priced at ‘face-value’ and often times fetch you much less money than its worth or be priced higher than its true market value making it unsaleable to potential buyers.
At Encore Bridal Studio we work with integrity and choose to trust our clients in providing us with accurate information about their consigned item(s) so we can carry on with the same integrity when trying to resell what we showcase with confidence and pride to the next bride.
Consignment is a sales model that is purely based on trust and integrity from start to finish between the Consignor and the Consignee and any misuse of this trust is not tolerated at Encore Bridal Studio resulting in immediate termination of the Consignment Agreement.
I don’t mind consigning, but concerned my dress would get tried on multiple times inviting additional ‘wear & tear’.
Encore Bridal Studio is an by appointment only establishment, where a curated selection of dresses aligned to the bride’s requirements are pulled to be tried on. This is followed by our very strict personal hygiene guidelines where we expect our brides to adhere to prior to their appointments such as: freshly showered, no use of body lotion/oil/tanning, no hair products as leave-in conditioners, hair oil with no makeup including heavy perfumes or bodily scented sprays of any kind.
In addition, should the bride or anyone from her entourage wish to look through the collection showcased, they will be guided to the rack with the appropriate sizing and given white cotton gloves to browse through the dresses to maintain cleanliness. Please keep in mind that your beloved dress is our precious inventory and at Encore Bridal Studio we go the extra mile to make sure your dress is well taken care of and in excellent condition to be worn by the next bride on her BIG day!
